I think it's pretty obvious that I am horrible at keeping up with writing this blog. I promise to try to do better. With that out of the way let me tell you about a few things about the Tennessee Valley Author Event
This event was my first signing event ever, and will forever be important to me. The weekend started with stranded authors/friends, lots of driving and a little bit of alcohol for relaxation. I was finally able to meet some of my best friends in person, and they learned first-hand that I have a pretty bad anxiety problem. I suffer from panic attacks, and this weekend started with a big one. When things finally calmed down it was time to head to the venue and get ready for the 1000 registered readers! Let me say that my assigned assistant was absolutely amazing! Nicole from Author Groupies went above and beyond to help me, support me, and snag me some swag from my fellow authors! She was also very fun to hang out with, I only wish I could afford to hire her full-time!
I went into this event not really expecting much. I honestly would have been happy to have sold just one book the entire day. What happened was so amazing to me. I actually sold books! Not just one single book, but several! No matter if a reader bought a book from me, grabbed some signed swag, or came for a cupcake, I am eternally grateful to every person who took the time to stop by and say hello!
Overall the weekend was amazing and I made some amazing friends, and got to have Mr. Steffen Hughes sing me Happy Birthday. His voice is amazing, he wears a delicious cologne, and he is a sweetheart!
P.S. I totally plan to get a new tattoo commemorating this event!
